Discussion of Gods Ultimate Creation Man - 1144 Words

When God created heaven and earth, he wanted to also create those that would be a reflection to his image. He wanted to create more and something that could be good to what he created in the beginning. Earth was created by him and with doing that, he thought to create humankind that could be good to the earth and be superior to everything around them. In Genesis 1:26-27, God talked about how he created humankind within his image so that they would be like God. In Genesis 2:18, the Bible speaks about God’s creation of woman. Some individual’s question the origin of man and it continues to intrigue them, while others accept Genesis’s account of creation. Some believe that God, in his own wisdom, created the heavens and earth; and placed†¦show more content†¦God not only created them for a stronger relationship with all that he had created, but as well as a strong relationship with him. God wants that close bond with what he has created and the partnership between Adam and Eve teaches them how to work together and stay connect with God. By God creating Eve from Adams rib, it made the creation of woman more significant that Eve was made as an equal to Adam. According to the traditional Hebrew text, in Genesis 2:23, it states â€Å"The man said â€Å"This one at last is bones of my bones and flesh of my flesh, this one shall be called woman, for from man she was taken† (Sarna 23). This means that when Eve was created it was as one flesh making her equal to Adam. According to Kselman, â€Å"the creation of woman does not imply subordination anymore then the creation of man from the earth implies subordination† (88). Eve was not intended nor is she lower than Adam. Adam was given the ability by God to be dominant over the animals. As stated in Genesis 2:20 NRSV, â€Å"the man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field; there was not found a helper as his partner† (8). When Eve was created she became that helper to help Adam with the garden and the animals. She received the same power as Adam to be dominant over God’s creation by naming the animals and being in the image of God.
